Help make a difference for local animals

We are seeking enthusiastic and committed volunteers to join the Board of Trustees for our local RSPCA Branch. This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and experience to support animal welfare in your community.

About the Role

As a Trustee, you will work as part of a team to help oversee the governance and administration of the Branch. Trustees ensure the charity is well managed, financially sound, and able to continue its important work supporting animals in need.

The role is not time-consuming and is suitable for people who want to make a meaningful contribution without a large commitment.

Time Commitment

  • Attend one Trustee meeting per month

  • Meetings are held either online or at one of our charity shops

  • Occasional involvement in discussions or decisions between meetings

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the effective administration and governance of the Branch

  • Helping to shape the Branch’s plans and priorities

  • Monitoring the charity’s activities, finances and performance

  • Working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and volunteers

  • Supporting our network of six charity shops and office operations

Skills and Experience

No previous Trustee experience is required, and training can be provided. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Particular skills in any of the following areas would be especially valuable:

  • Social media and digital communications

  • Finance, accounting or bookkeeping

  • Human Resources (HR)

  • General administration and organisational skills

What We’re Looking For

  • A passion for animal welfare

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Sound judgement and a willingness to contribute ideas

  • Reliability and commitment to attending monthly meetings

What You’ll Gain

  • The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of local animals

  • Experience of charity governance and leadership

  • The chance to use your skills for a worthwhile cause

  • Working with a friendly and dedicated team of volunteers

If you would like to support animal welfare in your local community and help guide the future of the Branch, we would love to hear from you.
